Privacy and safety
A privacy-first dating app, designed with women’s safety in mind
Many women describe the same frustrations with dating apps: photos screenshotted and shared, attention that is all about looks, and people who turn out not to be who they said they were. No app can remove every risk. But the way an app is designed changes what you are exposed to and how much control you have.
CMEBLIND is a new privacy-first app for dating, friendship and meeting people. It’s coming soon, and it is being designed with women’s safety and privacy in mind from the start.
How CMEBLIND is designed for privacy
- Your face is private by default. Your profile shows a mask, avatar or veil, so your photos aren’t sitting on a public profile.
- Real people behind the masks. Profiles are being built to require photo verification: a live selfie plus a random pose.
- You control the reveal. Photos are revealed only when both people agree. Nobody can unmask you on their own.
- Personality before looks. Matching is based on answers to real questions, not on a photo, which shifts the focus to conversation.
- Everything starts in the app. You talk inside the app and decide what to share, and when.
Dating safety tips for any app
- Keep the chat in the app until you feel comfortable moving it somewhere else.
- Protect personal details. Hold back your home address, workplace and financial information early on, and never send money to someone you met online.
- Talk by voice or video first before deciding to meet in person.
- If you meet, plan it your way. Choose a busy public place, tell a friend where you’ll be and arrange your own way there and back.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, you can stop replying or leave. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
For women everywhere
CMEBLIND is being built for a global, multiracial community. Wherever you live and whoever you are, the idea is the same: be known for who you are, and stay in control of what people see.
